FIST JOINS FEMINIST PROTEST OCTOBER 2nd AT AAP CONFERENCE IN SAN DIEGO

Despite the 100 degree heat, on October 2nd, 2026, a couple dozen women from Feminists In Struggle (FIST), Genspect, Our Duty, Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender (DIAG) and the LGB Courage Coalition picketed the national Conference 0f the American Academy of Pediatrics in San Diego, to educate doctors and nurses about the permanent physical harms to minors caused by the drastic medical interventions that carry the Orwellian name of  “Gender Affirming Care. “

These interventions, mostly done on girls and young women, the majority of whom are same sex attracted (thus probable future lesbians) involve harmful and sterilizing puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and the removal of healthy breasts.  Girls and young women also often undergo painful genital surgeries carrying gigantic complication rates.  All this for the lie that some people are born in the “wrong” body, that  it is possible to change sex, and that gender non-conformity, homosexuality, and puberty itself are abnormal medical conditions needing medical treatment.

Colorful signs declared  that “Damaging Healthy Endocrine Systems is not healthcare” and that “Kids and Teens Can’t Consent to Sterility.”  Women passed out educational materials to dozens of conference attendees on the demonstrated harms and ineffectiveness of these interventions.

Everyone who participated saw our picket as one step in the long struggle to end this practice, the same way lobotomies were ended a couple of generations earlier.  Reaching the medical profession is strategically important whether through malpractice law suits by de-transitioners; or through protests like this one.

We are here for the long haul for the sake of future generations of girls and women, that they be given the opportunity to grow up healthy with their bodies intact and to pursue their dreams regardless of their sex. There’s no looking back.
